Incorporated in 1987, GMG Contractors Ltd started as a family-run business specialising in slating and plastering subcontracting. Over the years, the firm has grown extensively and is now a multi-trade main contractor working with premier private house builders, national construction companies, local authorities and housing associations.
Operating from a two-acre main site in Baillieston, Glasgow, and a satellite yard in Cumbernauld, GMG directly employees more than 100 people and around 70 self-employed contractors.
GMG currently has 27 apprentices and we carefully balance new workers with experienced and seasoned tradespeople who can share their skills. With an average workforce age of 26, GMG has one of the youngest profiles in the industry.
In line with recommended Health and Safety regulations, it is our company policy that every GMG tradesperson is provided with an apprentice, subsidised by the business.
